After recently undergoing a bone marrow transplant, I was away from my son and my home for two months. I was finally told I could go back but the house would have to be cleaned and sanitized before I could return.
I had heard good things about Penobscot Cleaning, so I thought I would call to see what they might be able to do?  As soon as Jami answered the phone I knew I had done the right thing.
After answering some questions about my house, I had an estimate within a few hours and a appointment for the following week.
I can't begin to tell you how amazing these people are. From the people in the office, to the crew that cleans, to Mr. Bishop himself, I was treated like an old friend.
Walking into my house for the first time was by itself, awesome, but to see and feel how clean it was, was amazing!
Going up to check out his room, my son commented on how clean the railing felt!
Now that's a CLEAN house.

The Penobscot cleaners are terrific. I walked into my house after being away and found water on the hall floor and water pouring through the kitchen ceiling and the ceiling on the kitchen floor. A local contractor suggested calling Penobscot and warned me of two things. First, they would tear everything apart. Second, the bill would be a shocker. Penobscot was called around 2 P.M. on that Sunday afternoon and by 5 they were on the scene (on a Sunday!). They promptly started work cleaning out anything that was wet and  kept a record of everything that was discarded, down to an opened box of spaghetti. Sheetrock, insulation, flooring, wallpaper were torn out. Tools that measured dampness were deployed to find any area that might develop mold or mildew. By 10 that night they had gotten the wettest areas cleaned out. Hot air blowers, dehumidifiers, and fans were deployed throughout the house and focussed on the wettest areas.
  They returned at 7 the next morning and continued work for the whole day. They were there for five days ripping out and removing anything wet. and continuing to blow dry wet areas. By the time they were done, the affected areas had been gutted and dried. And the bill WAS a shocker, and it was clear why. The insurance companies knows that Penobscot does thorough work, they charge accordingly, and the insurance companies pay knowing it is cheaper to do it right the first time rather than have mold or mildew appear later.
  The employees were conscientious, friendly, thorough, and even fun to have around. To me they were real professionals; a professional being someone who knows his or her business and conducts it with integrity. The whole experience of busted radiator pipes was extremely stressful and unpleasant and the load was lightened considerably by the productive efforts of the very fine people of Penobscot Cleaners.

Where to begin?  maybe at the start perhaps!
 
On or about mid-March, 2011 my husband and I discovered massive water leaks in our home due to ice dams that possibly built up over weeks.  We had no idea of where to turn or who to turn to until our insurance agent suggested Penobscot Cleaning Services, who said they were the best. 
 
To make a very long story short, we did, indeed, contact Penobscot Cleaning Services and I cannot say enough glowing endorsements about them.  A crew came in and immediately took over as, needless to say, my husband and I were totally overwhelmed and did not know where to start.  The crew handled everything - and I mean everything!  We just needed to stay out of their way LOL 
 
Out of ten rooms in our home, 9 rooms had to be gutted.
 
Never have I seen a crew work so hard - day after day - hour after hour - for WEEKS.  We were informed daily and, sometimes hourly, of the progress and developments they were making.  They made it possible for us to stay in our home for the duration.  Their call-backs were almost immediate whenever we needed to ask a question or comment.
 
Penobscot Cleaning Services are so VERY professional, courteous, diligent, trustworthy and I so look forward - yes, forward - to the reconstruction process in the very near future as they have turned from company-oriented individuals now into friends.
 
We have been told PCS will put up the "before and after" pictures on their website, so please keep tuned in to the "ongoing saga" of the Johnson household.
 
In summary, we do, indeed, most highly recommend Penobscot Cleaning Service.

We recently had water problems after a torrential rain. Upon calling Penobscot Cleaning you were here the next day and began what was a major (to us) cleanup. Throughout the entire process all of the personnel who were here to take care of the "mess" were not only very professional, but also very friendly and knowledgeable and answered clearly any and all questions we threw at them.

After removing the water and after everything was completely dry, the follow up work that needed to be done with any procedure of th8is kind, again only professional, knowledgeable and friendly personnel returned to complete this phase of the job. Again, a top notch job!

No offense intended, but I hope we will not need restoration services in the future. However, if the occasion does arise, we will not hesitate to contact you. We will also recommend you to anyone we hear of who needs services such as we did, or for any kind of job in your realm of expertise.
