Carpet Care Tips:
Vacuum, vacuum, vacuum!! Often, thoroughly, and in both directions across the fibers. Clean up spills quickly. There are only 2 types of stains: Organic (food, protein, grass, etc.) or Oil based (tar, grease, oil, makeup, etc.)
Use a general-purpose spotter for Organic, and a solvent spotter for Oil based.
1. Scrape up as much of the spot as possible
2. Use cool to tepid water and a white cotton towel, blot, and apply pressure. DO NOT SCRUB! Scrubbing creates heat and will set the stain into the fibers, making it permanent. This step may need to be repeated several times and possibly left overnight with a heavy weight on it to draw the substance out. If this fails, move onto the appropriate spotter and repeat the step.
